The National Achievement Awards is an annual event undertaken by AWOL to honour deserving individuals and organizations who are contributing their talents/resources for the enhancement of the common good.
This in turn, we believe, will go a long way towards restoring some of the lost pride and standards we have always cherished as a nation. Since it was introduced in 2002, the NAA remain an annual event that continues to grow and be more successful every year. Over the years, AWOL has presented awards to a wide range of citizens and institutions, starting from the market woman selling her wares in a common market to performing public and private institutions.
AWOL has also bestowed posthumous awards to deserving Sierra Leoneans whose exemplary contributions to the national cause were not recognized during their life time; for example the late Medical Doctor in Kenema who died after being infected with Lassa Fever from one of the patients he was treating.
Unfortunately, the NAA was not held since 2014 because of the Ebola epidemic that hit our country (and her neighbours) and the subsequent passing away of our godfather Amb. Moseray Gibril Fadika. Nevertheless, the NAA returns this year on Saturday 30th December, 2017 at the prestigious Bintumani Hotel International Conference Hall; and will continue to maintain its reputation as the most fair, transparent and credible national awards scheme ever held in Sierra Leone.
